I'm sure you're all bored of me waffling on about the Jimmy Choo crossover, but hey, when a girl loves her shoes, what's there to do?

So the question is...
Did I wake up early and get in line on the 14 Nov?
YES, well sort of.
Did I come home with goodies?
NO.
Well to cut a long story short I didn't wake up early enough and products were off the rack and in people's bags way earlier than I had predicted. So how did I get my hands on the items below?

Hong Kong's Yahoo auction site.
It's far more lenient compared to EBay and as a first time buyer it's been a rewarding experience, I found the opportunity to "strike it lucky" i.e come across a friendly and helpful seller, bargain the price, save on delivery charges and get my hands on the item within the next day.

So what did I buy?

My eyes had feast upon these since the collection preview, I can't wait to wear them out, but the only downfall is having to re-heel them first due to the delicate leather soles. I'm still apprehensive in parading these, but a walking stick may help.

On the subject of shopping, I have found a fantastic shopping partner, in fact a bestie. She has a great sense of humor, somehow is able to read my mind LOL and is such a sweetie that there never seemed to be enough hours in the day to shop with her.

The only catch is, she lives in LaLa land so until I next see her, the only window shopping we can do together is by the internet. Meeting Lisa from Shop N' Chomp was so much fun. Dearest Lisa not only brought with her a fabulous smile but came bearing gifts.

Wyman Wong acclaimed lyricists/songwriter and fashion columnist in HK has collaborated with shoe retailer Pedder Red. Wyman has launched a collection of shoes inspired by four of whom he sees as influential designers of this era. I'm not sure about the comfortability of these shoes, but they would look so good on my shelf.

Hello all, yet again I've disappeared from the blogger world and have gone into hiding in my own little planet. I certainly owe a few of you ladies reviews on products you've left comments and emails about, I will definitely get around to them, so do bare with me.

I was tagged by Mrs Dumpling, Tammi from The culture Enthusiast, ShopN'Chomp, Ena from Shanghainese Dumpling and Blovet Beauty to invite you all over for a virtual dinner party.

The question is: If you are going to allow us to spend a night at your home, we'd like to know the following:

1. What books are on your favorite shelf?
Well firstly, my books are stored everywhere from a shelf to a cupboard as I just don't have enough space in my tiny apartment to have too many book shelves. I wouldn't say I have a favorite as yet, but I do like 'The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery, and I enjoy reading from authors like Xinran, Haruki Murakami and Toni Parsons.

2. What DVDs are on your favorite shelf?
Besides my love for shoes, cosmetics and so forth, movies certainly has a special place in my life that takes up quite a lot of my time LOL, I can go for hours on end, watching one after another.

'The shawshank redemption', 'The Reader', 'Match Point', 'Infernal Affairs' and 'Always' just to name a few that I like. As for drama series goes- Friends, The Cosby Show, SATC, Hotel Babylon. TVB series- 'In the chamber of Bliss 蔡鍔與小鳳仙' (no it's not porn LOL) and 'Rosy Business 巾幗梟雄'.

3. What are your two favorite cookbooks?
I don't have any favorites, as I search for recipes on the internet.

4. Select 1-3 recipes you will cook for your special guests.

Thai pomelo salad;
Steamed hairy crabs;
Wagyu steak with mixed vegies and new potatoes;
I'll attempt to make desert like the following pic...yeh rite- I'll probably go and buy it instead.

5. What will we be drinking that's available?
Red/White wine from Chile, Veuve Clicquot bubbly, Lychee martini cocktail, Whiskey, and for those who prefer the non-alcohol I'll serve some juice, ice-tea and I'll hand you a can of coke.

Hope you've all been well, I've been bogged down with all sorts recently, hence my disappearance from the blogosphere and lack of posts. This is most definitely a long over due tag from Zoe of 13 December so here goes with my Daily Beauty Routine.

CLEANSE

I'm sure you've all read raves about the following products, so I shan't go into any details
Lancome Bi-Facial cleanser for the eyes
Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

I've been trying out different brands of cleansers over the years and find that certain drugstore brands work just as well as high end products. One of the drugstore cleansers I like is the SIMPLE Deep Cleansing Facial Wash, which was purchased in HK and the SIMPLE Moisturising Facial Wash, this was purchased in London and not available in HK. Both of these cleansers remind me of the SKII Facial Treatment Cleanser I previously used.

I have sensitive and a combination skin type and both the SIMPLE products cleanses without drying and gives no harsh results like some I've tested, which is great for the skin and the wallet.

The shades are a touch more shimmery in person compared to what's captured on camera. The texture of the shadow is quite soft and great for highlighting. However, the eyeliner is quite difficult to apply with the provided brush so using your personal liner brush would be recommended.

Lunasol Star Shower Eyes 01

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!!
This week has been scorching hot in HK and for my living room air-con to go on strike and break down on Friday evening, it would either mean resorting to the bedroom at 7pm or to go OUT...
a night owl like me chose the better option.

Dinner was quite a disappointment so no food porn I'm afraid, but drinks on a balcony in high heat EVEN at midnight was a touch more bearable with fans supplied by the Deluxe Wine bar and of course being in great company made up for it all.

Back to the beauty news- Lunasol launched their fall collection on the 21st Aug in HK and needless to say I was there at the counter swatching away. I had my eyes fixed on 03 Dazzling Night, which the colours didn't quite live up to what I expected. My second choice was 05 Close of night, which is a touch more peachy brown compared to my Orange Gradation palette.

Luxury launch for MMM enthusiast in HK

Flicking through the boyfriends weekly lifestyle magazine, where I just get to view the photo's and not read the words, I came across a promo' page of Maison Martin Margiela's third year Anniversary in HK. In celebration, MMM have created a limited edition Majong set to be given to those who purchase over HK$8,999 (£700) (US$1,161) in their fall 2009 collection.

I can't say I'm overly excited about these little tiles of a game that require strategy, calculation and memorization, considering I've never learnt to play. However, I do have a bundle of ideas of what I would do with it, if I ever owned this minimalist set, for 1. attaching them onto my bathroom wall as decor.

MMM surely knows how to win the hearts of the Chinese community who enjoy the affinity for long marathon hours of Majong playing.

Exfoliating shower time

SANA Esteny Spicy Grapefruit Salt Wash- I purchased this on my last shopping trip in my local Japanese supermarket and was actually captivated by the fresh and sweet smell of this scrub.

The packaging states that it helps firm the skin whilst exfoliating, but I'm sure all wise beauty buyers know that one can't exactly firm up their skin after several washes by just using an exfoliator but I needed to stock up on a shower scrub anyway, so I gave this a try.

The packaging reminded me of a refill shampoo pack with a cap, which wasn't too convenient to use in the shower when your hands are wet as you end up squeezing out more than necessary.

The Salt exfoliator is a shade of pink once removed from the container, as you slowly circulate this onto the skin it turns peachy/white.

The condensed salt exfoliator is quite harsh compared to regular sugar scrubs, as it takes longer to dissolve. So I'd suggest you use smaller amounts on delicate parts of your body and possibly more on knees and elbows.

PROS
Smells of rosy grapefruit and the fragrance doesn't linger;
cheap and cheerful HK$79 (£6.20) (US$10);

Size- comes in a 250g pack;

super soft results.

CONS
This may be too harsh for those with sensitive skin;
Salt grains are not refined enough;
Not user friendly packaging.

THE OUTCOME
I wasn't too keen on this product during the whole exfoliating process, during my first two attempts I squeezed out too much and it actually felt a little painful to circulate into the skin. However, I must admit it has given me extremely SOFT skin so I shall continue to use this until my next trial of something new.

Searching for an eyeshadow palette for fall

I've been on the search for another eyeshadow palette lately and after a quick browse in Central today the indecisiveness in me still had trouble in choosing one. In the end I put it down to not actually liking any that I physically tried. So come on Lunasol hurry and release the Fall 09' star palettes...there's not long to go but somehow August 21st feels like years ahead.

Goods of Desire- Mooncakes

For those of you who would like a true taste of Hong Kong merchandise, I would suggest GOD (Goods of Desire), which is a store I love to browse around in, it's full of quirky items ranging from furniture, clothes, kitchen ware to accessories. It's award winning signature products certainly represents HK pretty well.

Tote shopping bags contain prints of old HK newspapers and images of past buildings.

T shirts with prints of 60's HK artists, double happiness coasters, good fortune wine bottle stops, almanac coasters and so forth. It's a fun place to stop by when you're in town.

Considering the Mid-Autumn festival is just around the corner, I've been browsing various cake shops for mooncakes to send back to my parents. Mooncake (月饼) is a round shape Chinese pastry which is sold during the Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the 8th month of every lunar year.

I had herd that GOD had collaborated with a well known cake shop to produce their own brand of mooncakes last year, but I didn't have the chance to take a peek at them until this time round and to my surprise this is what I found.

Talk about a full moon!
I doubt my parents would be happy to see these arrive on their doorstep.

It surely makes a difference to the traditional mooncakes you see every year LOL!

The lighting I'm getting in the apartment is pretty unpredictable. Before I get the camera out it's nice and sunny, as soon as I take a few snap shots the sun vanishes. I think someone up above is playing hide and seek with me.

NARS Night Breed is a shade of black with iridescent silver glitter.

I'm surprised I haven't hit the pan yet, as I use this shade quite frequently, it can be quite sheer which is good for a day look or layered for a darker/pigmented effect for an evening out.

I recently purchased a Daiso sponge detergent after reading Aichaku's review. I must say my HK$10 (79p) was very well spent and I'm pretty gobsmacked at how well it works. Although it's specified for sponges/puff's I still gave my brushes a wash with this and they're now so clean and fluffy.

I have been informed that it's a pretty harsh detergent and shouldn't be used for delicate sponges let alone brushes, so only try this at your own risk.

But in my opinion the Daiso detergent feels milder than the regular MAC brush cleanser I use. MAC has such a strong smell of alcohol, after washing the brushes even my hands feel EXTRA dry, whereas Daiso is unscented and far from the thumbs down result I get with the MAC cleanser. I would definitely recommend this product to those who love cleaning their sponges as much as I do.

Digging out me old jewellery

I've been digging through my stash of boxes and found a few pieces of jewellery lurking around. After giving them a bath, I've taken a few pics to show you what I found.

These silver/leather hoops are pretty new, they were purchased in Harvey Nichols 2 years ago.

I've never worn them, but considering I found them in my box I gave them a good polish.

My Friday meetup with sweet Mona and Yumeko consisted of lunch and a touch of shopping. No food pics I'm afraid, as I left the skillful food photography to the ladies.

Mona dear, was giving me the low-down on how good these 蒟蒻のチカラfacial massage puffs were, so needless to say I had to nab one. I first assumed it was a cotton sponge, but in fact it's made out of arum root fibre, which is delicate enough to give the face a good scrub. The packaging states that it can be used up to 2-3months, now that should give 'Bonjour' enough time to stock up before my next purchase.

I received my gorgeous necklaces from Worship At The House of Blues last week and I was showered with love by this chic and generous friend of mine. This talented lady produces such character in each of her splendid pieces of handmade productions, you just can't stop yourself from Owwwing and Ahhhhing at the site of her precious jewels.

Not only did I receive my necklaces, but a handmade eco-bag and some products from Cowshed and Bihada. I have yet to try the Bihada hot bath soak in my mini tub, but no doubt I'll be using it real soon. But I have used the lippy cow lip balm all week-Luv it!

1. I'm an only child and wish I had siblings.

2. I live in my PJ's- if only they made clothes as comfortable.

5. I use to speak English with a heavy cockney accent, but it comes and goes now.

6. My mum gave me cooking lessons at the age of 11- by no means was I amused at the time, but I'm certainly thanking her for it now.

7. I love potato's! Cooked in any shape or form- bake it, fry it, boil it, hot or cold, I'll eat it.

8. My cousin once told me when I was in my early teens that cutting your eyelashes would allow them to grow back longer, so I did- but did they?? Hell NO!

9. I'm more of a listener than a talker- but I have days where I ramble so much crap, I loose track of what I was on about.

10. I drink water as if I'm dehydrated, gulping it down like no tomorrow. 8 glasses a day is known to be good for ya but that's never enough for me- on most occasions, my 8 glasses tend to be drank before noon.

Hope you're all having a nice wknd, the weather's been so humid and dull in HK, it's rather depressing. So off I went to Causeway Bay- sometimes there's nothing better than some retail therapy!

Thought I'd give the (1) Methode Swiss Pore Minimizing Skin Treatment a try- will give it a thorough review latter on. I bought myself some (2) sponge tip applicators and (3) wolfberry eye masks, from a brand called 水感肌「水の思う肌」 it's labeled as Aqua Source on the price tags in the drugstores, but I'm still questioning the translation.

The packaging of the eye masks resembles the My Beauty Diary masks:
I picked up (4) a Arezia bath ball, some blotting paper (5) and (6) Foot Care plasters- these are great for blisters, as I find most plasters tend to come off after a short period of time. But with these thin sheets of felt, you either stick them directly onto your feet, or what I like doing is to stick them to the back of new shoes that give me blisters, as they help prevent further friction.

I Received some Samples from Suisse Programme, b.liv and Glycel too. I've tried certain products from all three brands in the past, and must say I quite like Glycel, but that's a topic for another day.

Last but not least- FOOD!!
Anyone fancy some dim sum?? Look at those pork dumplings shaped as a penguin and the white rabbit shaped marshmallows Yum!

Skin Analyzing Device

There are many beauty magazines I've come across in HK that illustrate product comparisons, especially for masks and creams, which show a percentage of moisture level to indicate a more accurate hydration result. Therefore I've been in search for a skin analyzing device to help determine if certain brands of hydrating products truly work for me.

I've come across a few sold online, which I was quite skeptical about, and those that looked more professional cost $$$$$$, so I almost gave up on the idea, until one day, the bf walked through the door with the gadget in hand. (GRIN)

Needless to say, I've been playing with it since, I can't say if it's 100% accurate, but the skin analyzer claims to detect the skin condition, allowing you to measure the percentage of moisture level, and oiliness in the skin by showing three different faces and two percentage's at the end of your analysis.

This is the result after my cleansing routine- indicating a low moisture level and dry skin.

Result after my serum application- Higher water retention, but still an unbalanced water/oil level.

Result after day cream application- Tadaaaaa!! Finally well balanced skin.

Brief review on No'7 Protect & Perfect

I picked up the No'7 Protect & Perfect Beauty serum and Day Cream whilst I was in London earlier in the year. Apparently there was a huge hype about this serum a while back, after the product appeared on a documentary regarding anti-aging.

The No'7 Protect & Perfect Serum (known as No'7 Restore & Renew in the US market) claims to reduce the appearance of pores, smooths lines and wrinkles in just 4 weeks.

The texture of this serum is much thicker than any other serums I've tried, it feels more like a cream. But once it's spread onto the skin, it is slowly absorbed and you can feel the texture of your skin is noticeably softer. There is a slight scent, but nothing too overwhelming.

Overall it's not a bad product, but I don't think it's made a huge impact on the appearance of my skin, as the pores on my nose still stick out like a sore thumb, but it is noticeably smoother and softer. I still don't quite get what the hype was all about, and why it was flying off the shelves but at least my curiosity has come to an end, and I can keep on searching for a HG serum.

The Protect & Perfect Day Cream- the smell was the first thing I noticed after opening the glass jar, the artificial floral smell is just too strong for my liking. However, the texture of the cream is reasonably smooth. I only managed to use it for two weeks, and it's now left sitting in the corner of my dressing table. Which leaves this as an unfair review for this product, but somehow the smell just stops me from wanting to give it another try.

Yes, the snotty tissues are all mine, and there I was thinking a spot of pampering would heal a cold!!

A Guide to Shopping destinations on HK island

HK is such a small metropolitan region, it's literally shown as a dot on the world atlas, but this tiny dot of a city is like a shopping mecca for shopaholics.

I always get asked, why do people who travel to HK, have a tendency to shop for foreign brands? Well firstly, certain products are cheaper due to the exchange rate, there's tax free on basic goods, and thirdly HK is more of an international financial centre that concentrates on trading rather than producing or marketing their own brand names. But if you look closely enough, you'll realise you're actually surrounded by HK goodies throughout your stay.

CENTRAL- one of HK's iconic addresses for high end brands!

Stepping onto Des Voeux Road Central you'll find 'The Landmark' home to the flagship boutiques of many international fashion brands as well as dining outlets, such as Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Tods, Bottega Veneta, Harvey Nichols, ZUMA etc. It's a nice place to sit for afternoon tea, as it's always less crowded.

IFC Mall- 8 Finance Street, houses over 200 international brands, mostly high end luxuries, a new cinema and restaurants: Agnès b. le pain grillé, Biztro, RMK,Cafè Vergnano 1882, Fook Ming Tong Tea Shop, Kee Wah Bakery just to name a few.

On Lan Street- Maison Martin Margiela, Billionaire Boys Club, Comme des Garçons, Christian Louboutin, DSquared2, Deep Anger, D-MOP, oh the list goes on...

For a taste of traditional Chinese outfits Yue Hwa Chinese Dept Store, on Queens Road Central (also located in Causeway Bay and Jordan), will give you plenty at that. Shanghai Tang, on Pedder Street (another branch in Pacific Place phase II) which is another favorite of mine has beautifully designed Qi Pao's that are produced with a modern touch, it's even better if you have the time to get them tailor made.

Known as Antique Street to the Chinese on Hollywood Road Upper Lascar Road/Cat Street specialises in wooden hand-crafts, porcelain vases and jade. Haggle away!!

Before you leave Central, stop off at Lan Kwai Fong or SOHO for a few martini's to recharge your batteries!!

ADMIRALTY- Continuous luxuries!!
Pacific Place Mall is situated above the MTR station. The Seibu and Lane Crawford Department store offers various international brands and beauty products. A particular favorite of mine is the lush Lane Crawford home furnishings store.

CAUSEWAY BAY- Eternal Popularity of Mini Mix galore!!

You'll find three branches of Bonjour beauty stores in CWB, this is suggested to be your first stop for beauty shopping, as you'll find certain products to be 20% cheaper than SaSa. Caution: Always Check their expiration date before purchase, as Bonjour/SaSa tends to stock products known to local's as "water goods" which stands for parallel imports. Certain products may only have a shelf life of 12-18 months.

There are 6 delightful branches of SaSa's (HK's leading beauty chain store) and the largest in CWB is on Great George Street.

Watsons one of HK's leading Pharmacy's- This is where you can find the much loved Japanese and Korean drugstore brands like Tony Moly, Kate, Majolica Majorca and so forth. The bigger the store, the more brands they stock and vice versa. You'll find some local HK branded skin care products here and in Mannings too.

Mannings Pharmacy- Sells My Beauty Diary masks and a whole load of overs, they're also sold in SaSa. I did a test run, when I purchased my new batches of MBD's last week, and the production/expiration dates were the same from both stores (3 years), but they were cheaper in SaSa.

G O D- Goods of Desire!! on Sharp Street.
I'm sure not many of you's would have thought about purchasing a piece of furniture from HK, but if you ever do, stop by this place- they also sell the funkiest T.Shirts and accessories that are very HONG KONG style modernised from the 1950-80's.

Chocolate anyone?? Agnes b' Delices on Paterson Street.

There's The Lee Gardens plaza for those who can never have enough of luxury brands. Gucci, Chanel, BV, Lowe ZZZZzzzzzz the list goes on. (Lan Fong Road)

Loads of mini-malls such as Laforet on East Point Road.

Island Beverley mini-mall on East Point Road for your girly kawaii things, and a taste of some jazzy HK style clothing.

I would suggest the Computer Centre 130 Hennessy Road in Wanchai for computer bargains too, but take note these are parallel imports which may not offer warranty, where as Fortress/Broadway do.

A late Haul!!

The following haul was purchased a month ago, but I wanted to try everything before I made reviews on them, so here we go:

Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee 1st Wrinkle Serum:
I love the smell of grapes from this product, as other than the packaging that gave me the first impression- which was not all that great, the smell made up for it.

It's a very thin fluid like consistency and glides onto the skin, where it's soaked up very quickly. But I had to use several pumps to get enough to cover the full face. After a month's use, I haven't seen much difference to my skin, it is a very smoothing serum, but other than that, I'm not too hyped about it. I've almost finished the entire bottle (after 4 weeks), which was purchased in SaSa during the sales, and even after the 20% discount (HK$480) (USD61), it was still quite pricey compared to online offers I've seen in the US. Will I purchase it again?? I doubt it!!

Zeno Hair waving Holder:
This was something I picked up off the racks whilst I was queuing to pay for my goods LOL! Did it give me the perfect fringe curl?? I'm afraid not, I even took before and after photo's, but it was honestly pointless to post them up, as both pics almost looked identical. I would have achieved a better curl with just a round brush.

Cellniq-b.liv 'off with those heads' pro sebum gel:
After a quick skin analyzing test that was made in SaSa, I was introduced to this product, which I know has been out for years in the States and other parts of Asia, but apparently it's quite new to the HK market. The packaging reminded me of drugstore sun screens, I know they've repackaged the product in order to market towards teenagers as well, but could they not have come up with something more tasteful?

Off with those heads as the name states, is to remove black/white heads and control sebum production. The directions states to use 2-3 pumps, but 1 is already more than enough for my T.Zone. It's a clear gel that smells of tea tree oil but the fragrance doesn't linger. During the first week I had to constantly blot my nose as the amount of grease produced was enough to fry chicken LOL! There is a precaution about this on the box.

I am quite pleased with my purchase as it has dramatically improved the level of sebum secretion and my T.Zone is now less greasy, I'm almost white head free too. Hopefully I'll no longer have to use a blemish extractor. Apparently constant use of an extractor can cause bigger pores. Has anyone tried Derma RX Comedone Formula? Or Suqqu Pore Purifying Effector???

Shiseido Silky Eye Shadow Duo- S10 Granite Stone
For office days, I tend to use more earthy shades, but when I came across this duo compact, it was quite appealing. With just a wash of the light pink, and a little granite black, I could still get away with a fresh and light look. I used this compact over the weekend, and managed a smokey evening style too, so it's quite versatile to keep in the make up bag, for transforming day to night looks.

QuIcK DIY NaiL ArT

There are so many ways to play around and decorate nails, but I've never been creative in this area and don't pay much attention to my nails other than to just paint them. After receiving a pack of 3D rubber art stickers from a friend- here's my bit of fun!

Rimmel London PRO Professional Finish in 319 Ruby Me
Quick review- it dries quickly, the maxi brush gives an easy application, and two coats gives an even pigmented finish. Even with a top coat, it tends to last no more than 5 days before it starts chipping.

KINU 3D Rubber Art Stickers from Japan.

I applied two coats of Rimmel polish, waited for them to dry and placed the stickers on.

The stickers are still adjustable after they've been applied to nails, you can use tweezers to position them more accurately.

Apply any brand of top coat, I used Sally Hansen's Mega Shine.

VOILA!!

A quick and easy way to jazz up them nails.

Fruit shopping with Mr.Canon Camera

As we've always been told, in order to achieve healthy looking skin you need to top up on your daily dose of Vitamin C' be it applied as a cream, or better still to eat yummylicious fruits that contains vitamins.

HK is a region that is full of fresh and exotic fruits, and that's one thing I've fully enjoyed after moving here.

So here we go- fruit shopping with my camera!!

Driving my trolley down the fruit isle I come across must by Dragon Fruits! Full of Vitamin C and low calorie.

Blimey there's heaps of them. *o*

Guava and Loquat, I love Loquat's, they taste refreshing, not too sweet and according to Chinese herbal practitioners, they're good for the lungs.

Known as the "Queen of Fruits" The Purple Mangosteen is scrumptious and certainly one of my favorite fruits- so sweet and juicy!

Here comes the "King of fruits"- the Durian, I'm afraid I still haven't grown to like these.

Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen Mascara Review

Many ladies have their personal preferences in selecting a mascara and I for one have been on a quest for a sublime mascara for years. Opting for some snazzy Oomph for my short and fine lashes.

The following are amongst a few that's given me a slightly more positive result:

Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen
Pros: Lengthens, curls, pigmented, separates lashes, volume, doesn't smudge.
Cons: Slightly clumps after 50% of usage, pricey.
9/10

Bourjois Paris- Pump Up The Volume Waterproof Mascara
Pros: Curls, lengthens, gives volume, cheap and cheerful.
Cons: Slight flaking after several hours of wear.
8/10

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus
Pros: Separates lashes, no clumping, no smearing, lengthens.
Cons: Slightly difficult to remove, doesn't give volume or hold curls, not too keen on the comb.
7.5/10

MAC Plush Lash & MAC Prep + Prime
Pros: Used together this gives volume & lengthens and it's very pigmented.
Cons: Slightly droops my curls, pricey having to purchase the two.
6.5/10

Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen Feline
Pros: Lengthens, curls, volume, pigmented, separates lashes, waterproof, I love how it's buildable and the brush doesn't pick up too much mascara in one go.
Cons: Slightly clumps after 50% of usage, pricey, little difficult to remove.

Maxfactor Masterpiece
Pros: Separates lashes, Lengthens, IFX brush is great coating small lower lashes.
Cons: Not enough volume, doesn't curl enough.

Here's my first quick demonstration, used Helena Rubinstein's Lash Queen Feline with NO mascara base.

This is not the best of illustrations as I was in a rush when applying the mascara and taking the pics, having only applied a thin coat. So do take note you get a much better result when giving the lashes a thicker coat and evenly distributing the mascara.

Majolica Majorca & Coffret D'or CM Eyes Review

I've been searching for a neutral eyeshadow palette for a while now, one which is not too shimmery for day wear so I previously purchased the Majolica Majorca BR788. The colours are a bronzy tone, which is nice for summer.

Overall the shadow texture blends quite well, but I'm NOT keen on the cream base at all. There are odd flakes of glitter which I just can't get to blend evenly. After three attempts, I still end up with one eye looking more glittery than the other, so I've given up now.

Over the weekend I bought myself a new palette from the Coffret D'or summer collection which was out on 9th June in HK. Coffret D'or Colour Mixing Eyes in #05, I was contemplating between #01 and #05, which are actually quite similar earthy shades. But in fact #01 is a brighter shade of goldy/bronze.

Here's my swatches:

Overall it's a good palette of colours for general use, the refined shimmery texture of the shadows thankfully mix well, and it comes in a pretty silver mirror compact with pink rhinestone like details.

For those of you who are seeking for something more glossy/shiny/sparkly then I'd say the Colour Mixing Eyes line is not as sharp as the SA/3D Lighting eyes collections.

Eyeliner Comparisons

I always feel that something's missing when I leave home without applying my eyeliner- call me vain, but my eyes feel naked without it. The fixation with eyeliners started in my teenage years- that was so many lunar years ago. But I've gotta praise the ancient Egyptians for this great invention.

I believe liquid eyeliners tend to have a longer staying power than pencil, but do correct me if I'm wrong, at the end of the day I can't live without either.

The following is what I've been testing over the past few months:

1. Make Up For Ever Aqua eyes (0L)
2. Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof- Long-Lasting Eyeliner (10)
3. Rimmel London Professional Liquid Eye Liner (001)
4. Maybelline Ultra Liner- Waterproof

I was rather impatient, so didn't wait for the liquid liners to dry before I took the photo:

OUTCOME:

CHANEL has longer staying power compared to MUFE, it's slightly more pigmented too, I like the retractable pencil where you can wind up/down, but the disadvantage is it snaps easily if you wind up too much (This is my second Chanel pencil), I also like the built-in sharpener at the opposite end. It costs more than regular eyeliner pencils but to me it's worth the pennies.

MUFE's Aqua eyes is a very soft pencil which is good for the waterline, it's so easy to tight line with this, the pencil just glides. But for a person like me who has small and heavy eyelids (almost monolid) it tends to smudge onto the top half of my lid when I draw a thick line. However, I still like using this to tight line, as it's the smoothest pencil I've come across.

RIMMEL is cost effective, and has a long thin brush, which I like for creating natural looks. It usually lasts about 6 hours before it starts to run, but do bare in mind I have oily lids.

MAYBELLINE's short brush and packaging is not appealing. But if we're on the subject of cost, waterproof ability, long lasting and pigmentation, it wins the race.

Hauling more masks

I popped into my local drugstore over the weekend and couldn't help but smile when I saw My Beauty Diary Masks - 我的美麗日記 on sale, these have been one of the best selling masks going in Taiwan, and with the discount how could I not cave and try them out. They were originally HK$115 reduced to HK$58 (£4.58) (US$7.48) for a box of ten. There was such a wide selection I was spoilt for choice.

Two particular types that caught my eye were the Platinum Nanocolloid Masks Series- a series of hydrating masks for dull skin, and the White Truffles Fantastic Whitening Masks - restores radiance and like the name, apparently whitens. These cost a touch more, but I'll probably give them a try latter.

I decided to go for a box of the Apple Polyphenol Masks instead along with a one week value pack that contains 7 different types (at least this way I get to try out more and the value pack only cost HK$39 in the sales (£3) (US$5.00).

I'm loving the My Beauty Diary Apple Polyphenol Mask, the smell of sweet apples appear as soon as you open the pack, yet thankfully the fragrance isn't too strong, in fact it slightly fades after a while. The apple mask is claimed to hydrate and tighten pores and regulates sebum secretion which sounds fandabiedozie to me. Unfortunately I could only read 30% of what's written on the box as my Chinese is what you would call "in serious need of improvement".

Final Verdict: Yes it works, I love it and I'll be buying this again!!
Ok, let's get realistic here, my skin hasn't suddenly refined to the point of baby soft and poreless looking. But I do feel that my pores have slightly tightened, it's refreshing and thankfully my sensitive skin wasn't irritated by this product. This mask isn't as hydrating as others I've come across, but to me, it's worth trying.

Note: I've read several reviews where some ladies have experienced irritation with MBD masks, so those who have extra senstive skin, should be wary.

As for the My Beauty Diary Value Pack, it contains:

Black Pearl Mask - Gives whitening effects and restores radiance and glow.
Bulgarian White Rose Mask - Extra moisturising, brightening and soothing effect.
Sake Yeast Mask - Retains and replenishes skin moisture, improves skin metabolism.
Pearl Powder Mask - Extra nourishing, gives brighter and clearer complexion.
Red Wine Mask - Moisturizes, increases skin elasticity, provides whitening effects.
Apple Polyphenol Mask - Minimizes enlarged pores, balances oil, clearer complexion.
Strawberry Yogurt Mask - Moisturizes, balances uneven skin tone.

I haven't tried these yet, but will give them a review soon.

Ive stocked up on some more masks. The Isqueen Whitening Essence Collagen Mask has won me over after a month's use, I had to repurchase some more, it's so good value. It's a sheet mask, with milky liquid, there's so much of the essence left in the pack I apply it all over my neck and hands (3 masks for the price of 1).

There's a slight fragrance to it, but nothing too strong. I wouldn't say it's whitening effects were great, but it did brighten up this dull face of mine, plus I felt my skin feeling alot more plump. Definitely money well spent- they were so affordable.

The second review is on the Firming Lift Coenzyme Q-10 Mask, this gave me no lift whatsoever, but I wasn't too surprised, it's not exactly a miracle mask. It mentioned all this goodness about Vitamin E, Green Tea, Q-10 extract and so forth so I was sucked in.

I'd describe this mask as being more refreshing than anything else. Would I buy it again? I'll try a few more before I decide, but I'm feeling lukewarm about it at the mo'.
If anyone wants to give the masks a try, give me a shout, am always happy to share my findings, and no I'm not expecting anything in return- it's so sad when people do.

Treatment creams for eczema & dry skin

For those of you who suffer from extra dry skin that has resorted to dry patches or eczema I've come across two creams that are worth trying, the Eumovate and Eurcerin. On a personal level, my eczema is thankfully not as severe as others I've come across. It usually crops up during winter.

I've tried both creams mentioned and I prefer Eumovate a touch more, as it seemed to work faster for me. When the eczema flares up the Eumovate tends to calm the redness/dryness and I can see a drastic improvement in under a week. So I constantly have a tube of either of the creams at home- for the just in case!

Both of the creams were bought in the 'Boots' chemist in UK, I'm not sure if it's sold in Asia or the states, but it can be bought from Amazon. Obviously for those who suffer a severe case of eczema then I'd suggest you see a doctor. The creams worked for me, but may not work for everyone.

Contouring with Maquillage Face Creator & MAC Mineralize Skinfinish

The Maquillage Face Creator (3D) was introduced early in Spring 09', and I'm sure many of you have been using this for quite sometime now, but I've just purchased mine several weeks back. Having tried using this contour palette to create more definition, I find it quite easy to use- Only when I have the time. However, I still haven't been able to create a better look than the Sales Rep.

As the make up artist Kevyn Aucoin once said "A face is like a canvas, and you can transform your look through the power of make up in any shape or form." - I'm still working on it.

I purchased the No'33 palette.

The compact case and refill are sold separately

Highlight Colour for the nose;
Top Cheek shade & used to define the eyes and on the top half of the T.Zone;
Blusher Shade;
A nuance shade used under the cheekbones/around the hairline/jawline;
A blending colour for (3) and (4)

Overall it's not a bad purchase, and I'm taking quite a liking to the colours, however when I'm on the go' especially in the morning's I just don't have the time to contour every section of my face. So I've been using the No'4 section of the compact more than the rest of the shades.

The downfall for me is having to use their brush as I find it difficult to blend, so I tried using my own stippling brush but the difficulty is picking up the colour, as the sections are so small. Does anyone else have this problem??

So when I'm now on the go, I've resorted to using my MAC Mineralize skinfinish Natural as a contour shade. This was recommended to me by Ling my Fab make up artist matey. The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is actually a matte low coverage face powder used to set the foundation (they call it matte, but I can still see slight shimmers when applied).

If you choose a shade darker than your regular skin tone, it works just as well as a natural contourer or even a bronzer, so it's worth trying if you can't be bothered with a palette full of colours.

I received a pair of shoes in the post today,
from a sweet friend in Korea.

This, I certainly was not expecting so it was a lovely surprise...weekend here I come!

This new edition to the family of Friendz shoes need to hit the town.

On the subject of shoes, there's nothing better than a pair that takes your fancy and brings you comfort. I'm not sure if it's to do with my old age, but my tolerance in wearing uncomfortable shoes have seriously hit the limited quota. I started wearing heals during my teenage years and have never turned back. But I hit a phase two years ago where pain struck me down and any form of heals would be unbearable to walk in. After X-rays and so forth, I was suggested to put away my beloved stilettos and stick with flats for several months.

Even though there are millions of choices to choose from in terms of flat shoes, I still didn't come across a pair that didn't need breaking into- I hate the process of sticking plasters on inorder to prevent blisters or scratching until leather softens etc. Therefore I'm always very picky with shoes and can take up so much time in a shop trying them on, walking about, prancing around LOL.

After constant moaning to a particular shoe loving friend, I was suggested to try the brand French Sole, and boy oh boy have I fallen in love with them. The selection and styles of their ballet pumps/flats are to die for- ok a touch of exaggeration there, maybe not die but to live for LOL!

I'm liking their Harriet Style's that have a deeper plunge to the front of the shoe allowing more toe cleavage. This particular style also has no left or right foot, as they mould themselves to the shape of your feet.

After two years of wear and tear my first pair have already taken it's toll (bearing in mind I did almost live in them everyday), needless to say I already bought my second, third and forth pair way before they started to die on me. I must say they do stretch a little over time, but would surely recommend them to anyone who's searching for a pair of ballet pumps who want comfort and colour.

This certainly won't be practical as an everyday wear- but it's light weight feature will be good for the odd fun weekends. It's seriously so light- feel's like a child's accessory.

A cake & doll day

Not much beauty to blog about today...I'm having another one of my L.A.Z.Y days where I just want to sit and eat LOL!

I stopped off at Zoe's today, which is a yummy cake shop and brought myself a slice of Banoffee pie and a Mango Cheese cake- nope I wasn't being greedy cos their mango cheese cakes are almost a bite size, and I finished the banoffee pie in 4 spoonfulls. I should have taken a pic of the cakes in comparison to the size of my hands- they're tiny, but so yummy.

I came across this little sweetie whilst I was browsing the net, it's so cute I want one. I'm certainly way PAST the age of playing with dolls, but she's too cute to miss.

Having read the fabulous Y's post on her love of chairs, I decided to do a sequel and dedicate this to her.

I've had a passion for modern classic furniture for a while now, and coincidentally it was the bf who purchased the baby below.

Charles & Ray Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair (LCW)- walnut veneer- horn finish (manufactured by Herman Miller). Unfortunately this is not a vintage piece from 1946, but we still love him to bits- yes somehow I've decided it's a boy LOL!

Due to the limited space I have in the apartment, he proudly lives in the bedroom.

The following is by no means a product of Charles & Ray Eames, but I picked this up 2-3 years ago on one of my walk abouts when I needed a desk chair. Yes, I know it doesn't come close to a regular looking desk chair, but it's so comfy, and me like it.

Another Saturday in Central

I've been so busy reading other people's blogs over the past few days, I've totally neglected my own, being too inconsistent with blogging, L.A.Z.Y me needs to get back on track and get this baby flowing.

I decided to give beauty shopping a miss this wknd- a girl like me is not fortunate enough to go on splurges every week. So I decided to greet the sun with open arms, and spend an afternoon on another one of my walk abouts with my Lomography Fisheye2 camera.

Central in HK is just as busy as any other cosmopolitan city, but thankfully there are so many small street's and alleyways on the upper side (upper side not meaning classier, but in fact on higher ground). You will always find a place that is less crowded but full of small shops that have their own individual sense of style, not to mention the antique market too, which I love hanging around in.

The first step to reach there is taking the LONG escalators, which seem as if they go on forever.

Only seeing two people through these lenses is like a miracle, the mid-levels can't be this quiet for a Saturday??

Errr...I don't think I've come across this road before- I was lost, but it was so much fun exploring new parts of town. I've been in HK long enough to know every street considering HK is so small, but daft old me is terrible with directions.

A local Chinese Antique Shop- I would have taken a better view of it, but the owner was giving me 'THE' eye, and I could tell an outburst of "NO photo's" was going to erupt any second.

The 4 hours walking around Soho and the upper part of Central made me hungry so my bf and I went in search for FOOD, what's he looking at??

The day went past so quickly, I hope we'll have another sunny weekend....I know it's only Monday but I so look forward to Saturday's. We've had so much rain over here, I feel like I'm in London. But surely London doesn't rain as heavily, I couldn't even see out of my window 2 weeks ago.

Fresh Sugar Face Polish Review

I've used a fair amount of exfoliating creams and masks over the years and I tend to alternate those that I use each week, but I still love the 'Fresh Sugar Face Polish' -nourishing mask with strawberries, as it smells divine. The smell of sugar and strawberries just compliments the brand name so well...Fresh!

It's enriched with revitalizing brown sugar and antioxidant-rich wild strawberries, which work together to gently dissolve dead skin cells and reveal perfectly nourished skin. Apparently it's a Fresh bestselling item too. But does it truly live up to it's name???

The ingredients it contains:

FRAGARIA VESCA (STRAWBERRY) FRUIT

The texture of the polish is creamy and slightly oily with fine sugar grains which melts into the skin after a few massaging motions. The annoying downfall of this product is that it comes in a round glass jar. Which means I have to use a spatula to dig out the polish- for hygiene reasons. Even though my hands are washed when applying skincare products, I still think it's unhygienic to dig my fingers in.

After cleansing my face, I tend to apply this polish to wet skin- even though it states it can be applied to dry. In my opinion using exfoliating scrubs on wet skin is less harsh and it'll help spread more easily.

Due to the fact that this isn't like regular exfoliators where you have to wash it off straight after, I tend to hop into the shower with it on and rinse it off after 10minutes. As I like how the steam in the shower helps my skin absorb the nutrients.

Overall I would give this product a 8/10 mainly cos it's a brown sugar polish which works far better than other grains and salts, as it's not drying compared to some exfoliators. Plus it can work as a two in one mask when you're feeling lazy. As it refines and hydrates the skin at the same time. The description does state it gives a glowing, luminous complexion after use, which I'm still questioning about. I do feel that it polishes away some of my flaky skin and it is pretty moisturising after use.

If they repackaged the container into something more hygienic and refined the sugar just a touch more I'd certainly give it a higher rating.

Lunasol Modeling Water Liquid Foundation and Control Makeup Base Review

I did a spot of shopping last Friday and came home with a few makeup items. I don't usually shop in SOGO, as it's very crowded in there, but other than SOGO I don't think Kanebo-Lunasol is sold anywhere else on HK island. I was pleasantly surprised though as SOGO are holding a 'Thankful Week' from 22 May to 31 May 09' and many brands have at least 10% off, or have selected skincare kits for 40% off. Bare in mind it's going to be busy there during peak hours like lunch time or evening, so I'd suggest ladies head there earlier during the day, or possibly latter.

I mainly concentrated on purchasing a good foundation, as I'm getting bored with the regular one I use. I've read so many good reviews about Lunasol- mainly about their Water Cream Foundation, but after I arrived at the Lunasol counter and spoke to the Sales Rep' to get some advice, I changed my mind.

I have combination skin, as like with many ladies it means dry cheeks and an oily T-Zone, and with the weather being so hot and humid, I was advised to try the Modeling Water Liquid Foundation instead. Apparently it's supposed to feel lighter on the skin and still be able to cover pores and rough textures.

The Lunasol Base Makeup Kit was introduced in February 2009' in Japan as one of their 10th year Anniversary collections. When I purchased the kit, it didn't come with the makeup bag, which I wasn't too bothered with. But just to let those of you who'll purchase the set from HK know.

Lunasol Base makeup Kit includes:

I purchased this Lunasol Base makeup kit for HK$590 (US$76) (GBP48) so it was not bad at all, compared to the regular price of HK$870. The Foundation and Control makeup Base are regular sizes, and the rest of the items are sample sizes.

I've tried the Lunasol Modeling Water Liquid Foundation along with the Control Makeup base for two days now, wearing both each day for over 10 hours. I was out doors on Saturday (even though it was pouring down), and I've been in an air-conditioned home all day Sunday, so I think it's a pretty good test to see how well- or NOT, this works.

I chose The 03 shade of Control Makeup Base which they've named 'Clear' but it's actually a beige colour that is supposed to even out yellowy skin tone. It did hold up to it's name and felt quite hydrating on my skin and gave the face a slight colour to prepare it for the foundation.

I liked the pump bottle as well, which is hygienic and easy to disperse, and the texture of the liquid was easy to spread. However, it didn't make my skin feel as soft as I would have liked, but maybe I'm just asking for too much LOL.

The next step was the Lunasol Modeling Water Liquid Foundation in the shade OC03, it did look a touch dark after dispersed from the bottle, but once it was spread evenly, it looked lighter. I blended this in with my fingers, rather than using a sponge. The texture was very similar to the base, but it dried far more quicker, which meant having to blend it in quickly before it caked in one area. I will use a foundation brush the next time I apply it, and will see if there's a difference.

There was also small shimmery particles on my hand, but once applied to the face, I couldn't see any shimmers at all.

The foundation states it contains approximately 55% water composition, and I could tell the difference of how lightweight it felt on the skin. The final application gave me a light-medium coverage and a nice dewy look.

I do have large pores around the nose and cheeks, and I don't think it does cover visible pores, so I used my 'Maquillage perfect pore cover' on top of the base, for my nose area, which gave a better coverage.

I'm afraid the photo below doesn't do the foundation much justice, as there was poor lighting in the room. I have the Lunasol Control makeup base and foundation on my right hand.

The final outcome for outdoor use, I would give it 7/10, although I was told the foundation is resistant to sweat and sebum, I still had to blot three times during the day, as it's just inevitable to sweat in the hot climate of HK. I'm sure those of you who live in the States or Europe will have less of a problem with this matter. The reason I still give it a 7/10 is the fact that the foundation didn't crease or cake after a full day's wear. The colour matched my skin tone perfectly and overall looked very natural.

As for wearing the foundation all day in an air-conditioning environment, a definite 8/10, I only blotted once during the 10 hours I wore the foundation and it certainly is long lasting. After hours of prep' in the kitchen and prancing around during the dinner party and drinking too, the foundation stayed put.

The foundation will work well for OL's, who are looking for a natural light-medium coverage, also being in air-conditioned environments all day draws out so much moisture from the skin, a foundation with a high composition of water will surely be beneficial. Plus the sophisticated glass packaging looks good too- so that's a bonus!

Shoes for Spring/Summer 09'

I'm a total shoe fanatic, and absolutely Luurve shoes in all shapes and form. Stepping foot into the shoe department of Lane Crawford or Harvey Nichols in HK just makes my eyes light up.

HK being such a small region do cater quite a wide range of top end brands. However, I do wish the styles of their lower end brands were more wearable. Shopping for shoes in high street stores over here is just so difficult for me. I either find styles I like but heels being too low, or they're quite poorly made. SO the only option is to either shop at higher end places, or to purchase online.

Paul Smith is a designer close to the top range of my favorites list. After working with Paul's team for a short period many years back. It was a total eye-opening session to how the fashion industry works. Paul's designs are rather quirky for some, but his attention to detail, and choices of colour on the interior of jackets and coats is certainly creative and inspiring. No matter how masculine or unisex his women collections are, I always manage to pick out a few items that take my liking.

Blushers recommendation

My much recommended blushers would certainly entail Chantecaille's cheek shade, in the colour - Silk, which works so well with my fair-medium shade skin tone. Apparently a new technology produces this ultra-light and fine cheek colour powder, which is made with micro-particles to create the most subtle blush. It's enriched with anti-aging vitamins A, C and E too, so one can't ask for more LOL. What I most love about this powder blush is that it goes on matte, which looks so natural and yet it adheres beautifully to the skin. I tend to use this during the day, as it gives me lovely natural rosey cheeks.

The downfall maybe it's size, which matters to some, usually most cheek palletes come in bigger sizes that are around 11g/0.38 US Oz, however Chantecaille's cheek shade looks like the size of a single eye shadow compact. It's so dinky, you can carry it around in your make up bag.

My next personal favourite would be Nars Blush in Orgasm, which is so soft and translucent, that it gives you that peachy pink healthy glow from within that really warms up your cheeks.

The shimmer factor is present but subtle, which is great if your skin tone is looking particularly dull that day, and it's perfect for the evening look, where the shade is buildable so you can look as natural to as sunkissedly flushed as you wish.

MAC's A Rose Romance Limited Edition Blushers

After a packed day around town this weekend in Central, I managed to get my hands on MAC's new A Rose Romance Collection - Blush of Youth Beauty Powder. There were two colours to choose from:

Blush of Youth - A sheer pink with gold pearl
Summer Rose - A soft violet pink with pearl

The packaging looked cute, which lured me into buying it, however it's certainly not as pigmented as other MAC blushers I've used in the past. Blush of Youth portrays to be a warmer toned of the two, but still too sheer for my liking. It doesn't do well as a blush, but possibly as a blush enhancer or a highlighter.

So if anyone who has a more porcelain skin tone or is looking for something more sheer and natural, then I guess this is an item you could try.

Skin care products of the month

I've always found that the skin care products you chose to use on your face/body should be decided upon what nutrients your skin needs, which I'm sure all of you already know. However, weather changes should also be a factor to consider, currently living in Hong Kong, where there is at least 8 months of heat and humidity, and 4 months of extra dry winters. It's a must to either change the brands of skin care products that you use, or to top up on the hydrating masks and step up on caring for your skin with a touch more attention when you endure a whether change.

After traveling quite frequently over the past several months, my skin has seriously taken its toll. So I've stocked up on two facial masks which I was very excited to try out.

I've always been pretty open minded about trying out different high/low end brands, so long I know the ingredients they enclose. So the first new mask I opted for was the ISQUEEN Whitening Essence Collagen Mask, and the other is the DERMALOGICA Intensive Moisture Masque. I've tried both products out this week, and I'm quite happy to say that I was quite pleased with the results I got from the ISQUEEN. My skin did feel alot more hydrated and smoother after this product and it did give me the boost of moisture that I required.

I'm afraid I'm not quite sure where this product is made, as it's not stated on the back of the box, and the ingredients mentioned are not as detailed as those from other brands. But several friends of mine had already tried it, so I felt a touch more at ease in experimenting with them.

Ingredients: Collagen, Natural Botanical Whitening Essence, Nano Vitamn E, Aloe Essence, Squalane, Glucan.

Functions: Using sophisticated nano technology, ingredients such as collagen, vitamin E and whitening essence can be penetrated deep into the skin, providing a constant whitening and hydrating effect. I very much doubt that it helps against UV rays, but the moisturising effect I was quite pleased with, so I'm sure I'll be using this twice a week, and I'll then see if the final results of a month's use will brighten my skin. This product was brought from SaSa in HK.

The Dermalogica's Intensive moisture masque I used after the 'Dermalogica Skin refining Masque', I do prefer the skin refining masque more than the moisturising one, even though they both serve different purposes. As the moisture masque didn't do much for me.

Maybe because I don't have any fine lines YET, that I didn't see any difference after using it LOL, but overall I wasn't pleased with this product. My skin didn't feel soft or more hydrated after.

With my combination skin, I do get alot of sebum pile up in my pores, and I'm still in search for a product that will reduce the appearance of pores. So if anyone has any recommendations I will gladly try them out.

The Dermalogica's skin refining mask states:
A skin clarifying, texture refining masque with oil absorbing clays and purifying plant extracts to deep-cleanse the skin, helping to reduce oily-skin breakouts. Contains no artificial fragrance or colour.

Another Dermalogica product I'm testing out is the 'Antioxidant Hydramist', all I can say is so far so good : ) I use this as a toner, and pat this onto my face after my cleansing routine. It is so refreshing and again most importantly that it's hydrating and doesn't dry out my skin. Which is crucial for a toner, so that the products you apply onto your skin thereafter cleansing is thoroughly absorbed.

The product does state that it's for mature skin, but I would most certainly recommend this product for anyone above 26 years of age. As I do believe sustaining your beauty should start at a young age.

I went out shopping today, in search for a pair of sandals and in hope to come home with a few exciting goodies. But almost every shoe shop I went into, I was presented with something LIME or YELLOW. I know both, are very 'in' colours for 2009' but I didn't expect to be showered with them LOL.

I literally walked out of each shop after Sales Assistant's were shoving endless items under my nose, unfortunately you get alot of that in HK. Until I saw this: Malene Birger Darice Cotton Cardigan, now this I fell in love with. I've always been one to wear safe colours like black, grey, brown's or beige. But this cardi' certainly changed my mind about staying 'safe' in neutral tones. A girl's gotta have some colour in her wardrobe, when it's items of clothing or accessories. After returning home with NO sandals but a stocked up load of toiletries I began browsing my favorite net-a-porter website and fell in love with a ring by Monica Vinader.
