6 things that can make me happy...

It has been said that "a true friend is someone you can sit with, never say a word, and later feel as if you had the best conversation of your life"

"Friends are mysterious people. When they come into your life, they're just another face. When they leave, your life feels somewhat emptier, even though you can still feel they're there. When they return, it's as if they never left at all."

What is there not to love about food and the joy it brings to share.

In any shape or form
Admire it, Create it, Wear it,
be Happy that you're surrounded by it!

Need I say more.

Lusting over V.Tam dresses

My absence from blogging hasn't kept me away from eyeing new things. Vivienne Tam's Fall collection for 2009 has struck an urge for wanting one of her dresses.

VT - Silver Mao Print Crown Collar Dress

VT- Black Melton Wool Dress with Wu Sleeves

VT- Red Draped Charmeuse Fan Dress

Digging out a pair of shoes from my last thrift find in London.

Have you got your eye on any pretty dresses??

79 pennies well spent

The lighting I'm getting in the apartment is pretty unpredictable. Before I get the camera out it's nice and sunny, as soon as I take a few snap shots the sun vanishes. I think someone up above is playing hide and seek with me.

EOTD- raring to capture the true colours.

Used Too faced shadow insurance
Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes pencil 01
Maybelline Ultra Liner waterproof (black)
Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen Feline mascara
Ettusais 02 caramel eyeshadow
Shu Uemura Pressed eyeshadow N IR Black 990
NARS Night Breed

NARS Night Breed is a shade of black with iridescent silver glitter.
I'm surprised I haven't hit the pan yet, as I use this shade quite frequently, it can be quite sheer which is good for a day look or layered for a darker/pigmented effect for an evening out.

Shu Uemura N IR Black 990
certainly more grey than black.

I recently purchased a Daiso sponge detergent after reading Aichaku's review. I must say my HK$10 (79p) was very well spent and I'm pretty gobsmacked at how well it works. Although it's specified for sponges/puff's I still gave my brushes a wash with this and they're now so clean and fluffy.

I have been informed that it's a pretty harsh detergent and shouldn't be used for delicate sponges let alone brushes, so only try this at your own risk.

But in my opinion the Daiso detergent feels milder than the regular MAC brush cleanser I use. MAC has such a strong smell of alcohol, after washing the brushes even my hands feel EXTRA dry, whereas Daiso is unscented and far from the thumbs down result I get with the MAC cleanser. I would definitely recommend this product to those who love cleaning their sponges as much as I do.

Digging out me old jewellery

I've been digging through my stash of boxes and found a few pieces of jewellery lurking around. After giving them a bath, I've taken a few pics to show you what I found.

These silver/leather hoops are pretty new, they were purchased in Harvey Nichols 2 years ago.

Yay!! I found a stash of old bangles, there was more but I couldn't fit them into the pic'

Don't these look shiny??
I've never worn them, but considering I found them in my box I gave them a good polish.

Bangles purchased from a little hidden shop yearsss ago.

This has got to be 10 years old.

Remember the days when chokers were IN' trend.

The older Chinese generation LOVES their 999 gold, this was a gift from my Uncle 16 years ago, reminding me to CALL him whenever I wore it. He's a sweetie and a right joker.

In another box where I keep my treasures...
A gift from my dearest and talented cousin.
Hand made and original!!
She makes alot of jewellery out of paua/mother-of-pearl and produces silk wraps and cards.

You can purchase these and more through her website
Go check out her beautiful pieces of art.
(NO thieving her designs, otherwise I'll be on your back like a leech and I'll make sure she sues your butt off)

Eyeing the bf's weekly fixes

Thankfully the typhoon has said it's goodbyes (for this week)
and the sun is out to play again.

Firstly my EOTD
It surely looked more dramatic in person but definitely very wearable colours for work.

Used my Lunasol 05 Orange Gradation palette
Too Faced shadow insurance primer
Chanel stylo yeux waterproof eyeliner
Rimmel professional liquid liner
MM Lash expander frame plus mascara

Random bits and bobs:
The bf picked up his fair share of caffeine over the wknd, calling it 'THE BLACK'
It's far from blue mountain coffee, but it's a quick fix.

My Mc'Donalds Grape McFloat
This is so TASTY!!
(grape flavored soda with ice cream)

If only all big and heavy magazine's were so portable.
The HK Milk magazine constantly comes up with the quirkiest covers. Again, its the bf's weekly dose of style and gadget info'

I like it, but I need help to read it!

Friday Meetup

My Friday meetup with sweet Mona and Yumeko consisted of lunch and a touch of shopping. No food pics I'm afraid, as I left the skillful food photography to the ladies.

Stocking up on facial sponges.
Us ladies cleared the rack.

Mona dear, was giving me the low-down on how good these 蒟蒻のチカラfacial massage puffs were, so needless to say I had to nab one. I first assumed it was a cotton sponge, but in fact it's made out of arum root fibre, which is delicate enough to give the face a good scrub. The packaging states that it can be used up to 2-3months, now that should give 'Bonjour' enough time to stock up before my next purchase.

Stopping for a mango beverage and a toast to Y-San in London.

Me being indecisive at the Lunasol counter.
Oh decisions, decisions...which palette do I buy??

Finally I settled for...
Lunasol's Blooming Eyes 05 Orange Gradation

It was a good day catching up with these fabulous ladies, I do hope you'll visit HK again very soon.

Tagged with the Honest Scrap Award...

I've been tagged by Ms.Shop N' Chomp
with the Honest Scrap Award

Tell your readers 10 things about you that they may or may not know, but are true. Tag ten people with the award, and be sure to let them know they've been tagged (a quick comment on their blog will do). Don't forget to link back to the blogger who tagged you.

I shall discard the rules and tag all of ya who reads this- as I'd like to know more about you all.

1. I'm an only child and wish I had siblings.

2. I live in my PJ's- if only they made clothes as comfortable.

3. My dad longed for a boy, hence I was dressed like one when I was a kid LOL!

4. I have constant feelings of deja vu, to the point that it scares me at times.

5. I use to speak English with a heavy cockney accent, but it comes and goes now.

6. My mum gave me cooking lessons at the age of 11- by no means was I amused at the time, but I'm certainly thanking her for it now.

7. I love potato's! Cooked in any shape or form- bake it, fry it, boil it, hot or cold, I'll eat it.

8. My cousin once told me when I was in my early teens that cutting your eyelashes would allow them to grow back longer,
so I did- but did they?? Hell NO!

9. I'm more of a listener than a talker- but I have days where I ramble so much crap, I loose track of what I was on about.

10. I drink water as if I'm dehydrated, gulping it down like no tomorrow. 8 glasses a day is known to be good for ya but that's never enough for me- on most occasions, my 8 glasses tend to be drank before noon.

Weekend Haul!

Hope you're all having a nice wknd, the weather's been so humid and dull in HK, it's rather depressing. So off I went to Causeway Bay- sometimes there's nothing better than some retail therapy!

Thought I'd give the (1) Methode Swiss Pore Minimizing Skin Treatment a try- will give it a thorough review latter on. I bought myself some (2) sponge tip applicators and (3) wolfberry eye masks, from a brand called 水感肌 水の思う肌 it's labeled as Aqua Source on the price tags in the drugstores, but I'm still questioning the translation.

The packaging of the eye masks resembles the My Beauty Diary masks:
I picked up (4) a Arezia bath ball, some blotting paper (5) and (6) Foot Care plasters- these are great for blisters, as I find most plasters tend to come off after a short period of time. But with these thin sheets of felt, you either stick them directly onto your feet, or what I like doing is to stick them to the back of new shoes that give me blisters, as they help prevent further friction.

I Received some Samples from Suisse Programme, b.liv and Glycel too. I've tried certain products from all three brands in the past, and must say I quite like Glycel, but that's a topic for another day.

Last but not least- FOOD!!
Anyone fancy some dim sum?? Look at those pork dumplings shaped as a penguin and the white rabbit shaped marshmallows Yum!
